An American Orchid Society Competition, Halloween-themed Orchid Show & Sale, will be held at the Radisson Hotel, 1200 Collins Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The public is invited to the 12th annual Orchids Are a Scream show and sale. This two-day, family-friendly event features hundreds of dazzling orchids – it’s a great way to view some of nature’s most glamorous flowers, with a bit of Halloween fun.

Visitors will enjoy creative displays and orchid-related crafts and collectibles. A wide variety of orchids and supplies from regional vendors will be available for sale. Exhibits are presented by regional orchid societies, amateur hobbyists and professional growers from across the Midwest.

The show is part of the official American Orchid Society Competition, with judging conducted by certified AOS judges. Volunteers and experts will be on hand to answer questions about orchid care, displays and the AOS judging process. The admission is free. easterniowaorchidsociety.org
