MG hosted the 10th Annual Taste of Heirloom Tomatoes at Plum Grove

A big thank-you to visitors who came out to support the 10th Annual Taste of Heirloom Tomatoes! It was a wonderful afternoon at Plum Grove with perfect weather!

Dozens of heirloom tomatoes were tasted, votes were cast, and dozens of visitors enjoyed the history and gardens.

Guests chose Brandywine Pink as their favorite tomato, with Pink Caspian as a close second, and Velvet Cherries in third place.

Globe/Slicers

• Red/Pink – Pink Caspian
• Yellow – Nebraska Wedding
• Brandywines – Pink
• Green varieties – Green Zebra (only variety)

Paste tomatoes – San Marzano

Several guests claimed door prizes, including flower bouquets picked from the Plum Grove gardens and arranged by Katy Carlson.

Community support enables the Johnson County Master Gardeners to continue its community programs and garden projects in the area.
