Johnson County Master Gardeners has announced its Community Speaker Series lineup for 2025.

The speakers for the three presentations that will kick off next year’s slate will focus on building soil health, prairie restoration, and pollinators. This initial series is set for Sunday, March 2, from 1-4:30 p.m., in the Johnson County Extension conference room. In case of inclement weather, the alternate date is set for Sunday, March 24.

Presenters include Hillary Olson, Soil Health Specialist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NCRS) in Iowa, and Jeremy “JD” Hollingsworth, NRCS Soil Health Specialist for southeast Iowa; Mike Fallon, adjunct instructor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Iowa; and August “Augie” Bergstrom, station manager at the Monarch Research Project in Marion.

The JCMG program is free and open to the public. Master Gardeners can earn continuing education hours by signing up and attending this program. A link to register will be posted on our Facebook page closer to the date.
